Approach to real estate
I have a natural and genuine passion for real estate and finance, with a personal portfolio across Hobart (including air bnb) and in Melbourne with a superior level of national, state and local property/economy knowledge, energy and communication/negotiation skills. I have ample experience in the real estate industry since 2012 working on well over 1,000 contracts of sale in Hobart and work closely with lenders, brokers, conveyancers, lawyers, councils, surveyors, valuers and building inspectors to ensure seamless sales from contract signing.
I also have a personal interest in property investments across Hobart (including the popular Huon Valley House Air Bnb listing since 2013) as well as in Melbourne, and able to advise clients drawing on my experience, knowledge, qualifications and foresight.
My key attribute is that I have had extensive experience as a mortgage broker advising on over $350m worth of lending, and able to qualify buyers rigorously and systematically regarding the strength/risk of a contract of sale. I have coached agents on buyer qualification – a key skill gap across the industry which is crucial to ensure the successful and seamless settlement of property sales.
I could see back in the 1990s that Hobart would become one of the most desirable and opportune places to live. To the present day, I believe this is still the case and that we will continuously see Hobart flourish driven by current and planned large scale construction projects across the city, a booming and ever-increasing tourism sector year in and year out, and healthy population growth.
My core values lie in integrity, reliability, planning, efficiency, fairness and transparency with everyone interact with from family, family, work colleagues and clients. I believe my job is about providing people with options and links to professional advice where required (e.g. accounting, financial planning and/or legal) and my professional recommendations to enable fully informed decisions to be made by clients. This approach is something that I have adopted from ex-executive level government management roles and as a finance broker.
I have total faith and optimism in the Tasmanian property market across all regions, and have a strong vested personal interest and speak first hand, with comprehensive and on-going experience.
I have a strong interest in on-going learning for life, education (I hold a Bachelor of Commerce [Finance], a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management as well a Diploma of Project Management) and provide a positive and unique value proposition to my clients through my experience in banking, innovation, foresight, professionalism, integrity, risk management, transparency, resourcefulness, open communication, reliability, and accessibility.
